Message from the Minister
Since its election, our government has worked with determination to put public finances in order and revitalize the economy. We can be proud of the progress made in these two complementary areas of the mandate given to us by Quebecers.
After six consecutive years of deficits, we are on track to return to a balanced budget for fiscal 2015-2016 and subsequently maintain balanced budgets, as per our commitment.
This financial soundness has given us back our ability to make choices, so that our social, family, economic and environmental policies can be developed in keeping with Quebecers’ priorities and needs.
The Québec Economic Plan tabled in March 2015 is based on this financial soundness and puts in place conditions and measures to foster economic growth and job creation. The plan will enable Québec to meet tomorrow’s challenges.
A stronger economic and financial situation will benefit all Quebecers. That’s why I invite you to express your opinion as part of the pre-budget consultations, in an effort to help us build a more prosperous Québec that meets your ambitions and aspirations.
I invite you to read the information on the website and share with me your opinion on the questions pertaining to Québec’s economic future. You can use the hashtag #BudgetQc on Twitter and visit my Facebook page at anytime to follow the pre-budget work.
